Every once in a while science discovers something that leads to a breakthrough in human health and nutrition. I’ve witnessed this several times throughout my years in the health food industry. Products that were once never heard of have become mainstream, and are now familiar to most people. Echinacea, Ginkgo Biloba, and St. John’s Wort, are a few products that have made this transition. I have no doubt that we are at this point again with a molecule which, ironically, has been around since the dawn of time. What if I were to tell you that there is a substance found in nature that you probably haven’t heard of, which offers incredible health benefits. A molecule that has the abilty to positively affect every other cell in your body, and to make you a healthier individual? Would you believe me? Well, I believe that a substance called Fulvic Acid is exactly this.
What is it?
Fulvic Acid has been called one of the most important natural miracles related to life itself. It is by definition a water-soluble organic substance of low molecular weight, which is derived from humus, often found in surface water.(1)
It is created in extremely small amounts by millions of beneficial microbes working on decaying plant matter. (2)
Fulvic Acid carries with it many trace minerals which are vital to the body.
Where is it from?
Fulvic Acid is found in nature in nutrient-rich soil. There are several places on the earth that are incredibly dense in nutrient-rich soil. These areas are termed “humic deposits”, are what remains today where ancient lush vegetation once flourished. What is important here is that this is exactly where Fulvic Acid is most abundant. It can generally be said that the healthier the soil, the more Fulvic Acid it contains.
What can it do for you?
Fulvic Acid has been documented and proven to help repair damaged cells in plants and make dying ones healthy again. It is assumed by some scientists that it has similar effects on the human body. This is because it is a powerful electrolyte.
You’ve probably heard of “free radicals,” and their propensity to damage cells? A free radical is a cell with an unpaired electron, which is unstable. One of the truly amazing things about Fulvic Acid, in my opinion, is its ability to balance cells. Fulvic Acid can act as either an electron donor or receptor, depending upon the needs of the cell. This will allow it to electrochemically balance any cell that needs balancing. It may very well be the ”ultimate antioxidant.”
Liquid, plant-derived minerals are a superior source of over 60 different minerals. Because minerals are inorganic, they are not readily assimilated into the body. Ingesting adequate amounts of minerals is simply not enough. It is very important that we are aware that what we absorb is at least as important as what we take in.
Chelation is the act of binding one molecule to another. Often this is done to enhance the absorbtion of certain molecules. Because of its incredibly low molecular weight and size, Fulvic Acid is absorbed into cells very readily. It can also then chelate” other molecules that are harder to get into the cell ( for example, iron ). By taking Fulvic Acid, we are ensuring that our minerals are then taken in and utilized by our cells.
Here is a brief summary of the main health benefits of Fulvic Acid:
- Excellent antioxidant and free radical scavenger
- Transports nutrients into the cells
- Enhances absorption of vitamins and minerals
- Aids in enzyme production
- Helps to remove toxins from the cells and is unique in its ability to remove heavy metals.
- Is a powerful natural electrolyte
- Restores electrochemical balance to cells
- Increases bioavailability of nutrients and minerals
I think that now you can see why I believe that Fulvic Acid is such an incredible nutrient
